Samsung Infuse 4G – Android Smart Phone With Super AMOLED Display
Mobile Phone Sunday, May 8th, 2011Samsung Infuse 4G Overview
Samsung has always been in the fore front when it comes to releasing and upgrading their android devices, they have just made the launch of Samsung Galaxy S2 in US which will make its debut in India soon, one which is claimed to be slimmest smart phone in the market at present.
Samsung Infuse 4G would join the race for slimmest smart phones as well with just a thickness of around 8.9mm it looks really great, built quality is bad either with metal lining around the edges and textured hard plastic finish at the back which makes gripping the device quite easy, it kinda feels similar to the upcoming slim version of galaxy tab. It does not weigh much either, 130g doesn’t seem to be huge considering the size of the device.
With 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display with the resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, its a capacitive touch screen with support for multi touch gestures, accelerometer, proximity sensor, also do note that display is made of gorilla glass which means its resistant to scratches and damage to accidental falls, below the display are capacitive touch controls which are default for any android based device.
Under the hood this device is powered by 1.2ghz humming bird processor, though its a single core processor the device is very snappy and quick just what you might expect from an high end device such as this. Runs on Android 2.2 Froyo version which obviously is customized with samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0, there are claims that it will be upgraded to latest Android 2.3 gingerbread, but we are not sure when its gonna officially become available for this device. There are couple of very good quality cameras found on this one, with a 8MP rear end camera supported by LED flash and its capable of recording videos in 720p at 30fps, it has auto focus and image stabilization built in so the pictures and videos from this device should look very good. There is also a front facing 1.3 MP camera which can be used for video chatting in Gtalk application.
There is a recent official announcement claiming that this device comes with angry birds game preloaded and there is an exclusive hidden level just for Infuse 4G device, frankly I wouldn’t go for a device just for playing this special level but should be an exciting news for those who want to get this one.
Like mentioned earlier it has a mammoth 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display which looks crisp and bright with great color reproduction, with that being said its great for watching videos and short clips at a very decent fps, it has a built in FM radio and music player which pretty much makes up for a great multimedia compatible device and 16GB of internal memory with microSD card slot which can make up for additional 32GB, you will have more than enough space to store your favorite media files.
Supports almost all the connectivity options which includes HSPA, bluetooth, miniUSB 2.0, Wifi, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, DLNA, A-GPS. If you are looking for a HDMI port there is none but you can however connect this device to your HDTV using miniUSB port available in the device. There is a rechargeable li-ion battery included in the device, there is no word about talktime and battery life yet.
