Amazon Kindle Fire – Low Price 7 Inch Android Tablet With IPS Display

Amazon Kindle Fire

When everything about the Tablet is going the Apple’s iPad way, it looked like that none can really pose a threat to rising iPad sales and demand across the Globe, HP, Blackberry and Samsung had high hopes on their own version of the Tablets running on different user interface but none seem to have really challenge the Apple’s version, one of the main reasons being the high price point on these products with relatively inferior and buggy interface which made them cry for some real attention.

Now it looks like Amazon has learned their valuable lesson from other OEM’s by making their version of Tablet really affordable for the masses with no to very little compromise on the over all built quality and hardware that powers up this device. Has Amazon really hit the sweet spot which most OEM’s failed? We will know when Kindle Fire becomes available.

From the looks its a sleek and slim Tablet which measures just around 11.4 mm in thickness and it feels really less, weighing just around 413 g, it uses a 7 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 600 pixels which is the same resolution as the one found in the Blackberry Playbook, it also uses IPS technology which means it will have great viewing angles unlike those traditional LCD displays. Unfortunately there is no camera on the device so you cannot take pictures or do a video chat.

Runs on heavily customized version of Android, in fact Amazon has customized their user interface to an extent that its really hard to recognize its android, but yeah its a good news for all those android fans that it runs on one of the popular OS for smartphones and this device will offer support for most applications you can find in the market place. Under the hood it runs on dual core processor which makes the interface look really smooth and fluid. One of the best features of this device is said to be Amazon’s own cloud accelerated browser called Amazon silk that comes preloaded on board which offers really fast browsing experience and guess what? Yes it supports flash! More on the interface can be found on the videos below.

From the connectivity end, its a Wifi only so there is no support for 3G and there is no sim card slots, which means you cannot use this one as a phone, does have microUSB v2.0 port and 3.5 mm headphone jack. Amazon offers free cloud storage support with the device, so you can store all your applications and files over the amazon cloud servers and it has 8 GB of internal memory, there is no SD or microSD card slots, battery performance is on the average side with support for nearly 7.5 hours of reading time or video playback with Wifi switched off, which is really not that bad for a Tablet of its price point.
